Not exactly... Xbox with Verizons assistance will be participating in a Free weekend of live but not for a month or anything other than a day weekend. There is a host of items that they will sponsor it starts and ends . Hope this helps

No its not true because the payments for gold go towards the cost of maintaining lives servers to keep them at there high quality, brbrAnd if xbox made live gold free then the servers wouldnt be kept at such a high standard and the quality of the online game play would decrease, and persuades its only a year which isnt necessary breaking the bank. and they will also have to stop offering some of the gameaddons for free or at a reduced price which would be a bummer

Wow...some answers good, but some are just wrong. There are levels to Live. Gold and Silver. Silver is free. It allows you access to downloads from the Xbox Marketplace. Games, TV shows, movies, etc. With Silver, you cannot play games against or with others on line. For that, you need Gold. Gold is everything in Silver plus on line play. Gold, if in US, is fifty dollars a year. Not a month. Thats insane. If you go monthly, its . a month. Much better deal to go annually. Thats the deal.
